A delegation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) separately met with ambassadors of Russia and Slovakia in Nepal and held discussions on bilateral trade and investment issues.

The delegation was led by NCC President Rajesh Kazi Shrestha. "In the meetings, President Shrestha presented the profile of different projects in agriculture, tourism, energy, health and education sectors to ambassadors of both the countries," a statement issued by NCC said. "He also told the ambassadors that Nepal had been looking for domestic and foreign investments to graduate to the league of developing countries by 2022."

Likewise, Shrestha told Russian envoy Sergey Vasilievich Velichkin that foreign investors can reap benefit by selling their products to large markets in India and China as both the countries provide zero tariff facility to different Nepali goods.

Responding to Shrestha, Ambassador Velichkin said Nepali traders should increase export volume of carpet, pashmina, coffee, tea and handicraft products to minimize trade deficit with Russia. He also suggested to Nepali entrepreneurs to attract more tourists from Russia.

Senior Vice President Lokmanya Golchha, First Vice President Gyanendra Ratna Tuladhar, Second Vice President Rajendra Malla and General Secretary Kamlesh Kumar, among others, were in the delegation.
