Chinese ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai said that Nepal China is divided by Himalayas but our relations are never cut by rivers and mountains. “Our centuries old relations remain friendly all the time. I would like to thank government of Nepal, political leaders and people of Nepal supporting China in all situations,” said Chinese Ambassador Wu Chuntai.

Addressing the interaction program on Nepal-China relations and book launching, Chinese ambassador Wu Chuntai said China and Nepal are always walking together whether there is a good and bad.

“New Chinese leadership is committed to improve the connectivity in the region. New leadership has already expressed their commitments to invest over 200 billion dollar in the last one year. Nepal does not need to worry about the resources for development. Chinese will provide all necessary support to improve the livelihood of the people of Nepal,” said Chinese ambassador. “We greatly value the relations with Nepal as Nepal is China’s good and reliable friend.”

Earlier, Chairman of Constituent Assembly and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai jointly released a book First Year of China’s Diplomacy under the new leadership.

Published by China Study Center, the book First Year of China’s Diplomacy under the New Leadership 2013-2014 is a comprehensive book consists of articles written by prominent Nepali scholars, diplomats and political leaders.

“The book deals with achievements of China with reference to diplomatic initiatives taken by the New Leadership since its assumption of office in March last year,” said Madan Regmi chairman of CSC in his opening remark. “The new leadership has given priority to improving and promoting relations with all countries, in particular neighboring countries,” said Regmi.

“Nepal-China maintains good and neighborly relations all the time. We have to learn from China how a nation can prosperous,” said CA chairman Subhash Chandra Nembang. Remembering his visit to China a year ago, Nembang has said he had privileged to meet the vice president of China and to share Nepal’s situation.”

Leader of Nepali Congress and CA member Dr. Shashanka Koirala said Nepali Congress always gives high priority to the relations with China. “Nepal China is all weather good friends and China’s support to Nepal is remarkable,” said Dr. Koirala, son of B.P. Koirala.

Former deputy prime minister and foreign minister Narayan Kazi Shrestha said China needs to maintain its non-interference policies towards its smaller neighbor. “We need to appreciate China’s commitment to Nepal’s sovereignty and integrity. “Nepalese are grateful towards China for its support for all round economic development,” said Shrestha.

CPN-UML leader Pradeep Gyawali expressed his confidence that Chinese new leadership will pay their official visit to Nepal within three years. “Nepalese are eagerly waiting to see the visit of Chinese president Xi Jinping to Nepal.”

CPN-Maoist leader C.P. Gajurel holds the view that China is Nepal’s dependable friend and guarantor of independence and sovereignty.”Prosperous and strong China is in Nepal’s interest. Nepal should not allow any anti-China activities from Nepalese soils,” said Gajurel.  

Earlier, Professor Dr. Mohan Lohani, professor Krishna Pokharel and Professor Meena Vaidya Malla highlighted the importance of the book in Nepalese context.
