Tibet Autonomous Region of China Makes 15.5 Million Rupee Donation for the Disaster Relief in Nepal

Chinese Ambassador Wu Chuntai met with Honorable Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey and handed over 15.5 million Rupees cash donation on behalf of the government of Tibet Autonomous Region of China for the Sunkoshi landslide and flooding disaster relief work in Nepal.

 As close and friendly neighbor of Nepal, China is very much concerned about the rampant flood and landslide which recently took place nation-wide in Nepal, and saddened to know that the disaster has caused huge casualties and property loss. Besides, the massive landslide in Sindhupalchowk District near China-Nepal border has blocked the Arniko highway and adversely influenced the bilateral trade and personnel exchanges.

According a press release of Embassy of China, to show solidarity and support at this moment of difficulties, the government of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, the immediate neighbor of Nepal, decides to donate one million RMB (equvilent to 15.5 million Rupees) assistance in cash to the Government of Nepal.

During the meeting, Ambassador Wu once again expressed condolence and sympathy to the bereaved families and assured that China is ready to provide more assistance for the disaster relief as needed by Nepal.
