Manoj Bahadur Shrestha appointed honorary Consul of Ireland

The new office of the Honorary Consul of Ireland in Kathmandu was officially inaugurated by Feilim McLaughlin, Ambassador of Ireland. It is located at NM Building, New Baneshwor.

According to a press release, Ireland has appointed Manoj Bahadur Shrestha as its first Honorary Consul for Nepal. Shrestha is a renowned businessman, builder and Chairman of Himalayan Bank Limited.

The Ambassador of Ireland Feilim McLaughlin emphasized that the opening of new honorary consulate of Ireland will help strengthen ties between Nepal and Ireland.

Similarly, Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kali Prasad Pokhrel highlighted the importance of such consuls in developing further opportunities for co-operation between two countries.

On this occasion, Manoj Bahadur Shrestha, Honorary Consul of Ireland welcomed the representatives of the Irish community living in Nepal. The Ireland Honorary Consulate shall provide necessary consular services to Irish community in Nepal and work to promote bilateral relations between the two countries. This is an important milestone for social, economic and cultural co-operation between Nepal and Ireland.
