Two day workshop on South Asia Regional Policy on Disasters, Climate Change and Agriculture and Land and Food Security kicked off today. Participated by the experts from the region, Chairman of Constituent Assembly Subhash Chandra Nembang inaugurated the workshop.
The workshop mainly focused on implementation status of past decisions made by SAARC. “Attended by the members of parliament, government officials, leaders and experts from South Asian countries, the workshop will come out with the recommendations on the way to tackle the issue,” said a press release issued by Oxfam.
The participants include upper house member from Pakistan and deputy speaker of Bangladesh’s parliament and other senior representatives from SAARC. The recommendation of the workshop will be submitted to 18th SAARC Summit which is going to be held in November 25-26 in Kathmandu.
