NIC Asia Bank Launches Financial Literacy Program

NIC ASIA Bank will launch a drive to conduct Financial Literacy Programs in coordination with National Banking Institute (NBI) for the benefit of people from communities having relatively limited ‘Access to Finance’ from the mainstream financial system.

According to a press release, the Bank is conducting a program at 11 locations outside Kathmandu Valley in the initial phase. "This is in line with the Bank’s declared objective of being a good corporate citizen. It is committed to contribute in enhancing financial education and literacy standards that allow people from the targeted communities to make informed and effective decisions regarding their financial resources and bring awareness about Access to Finance," said Neetika Ghimire.

The initial programs are being conducted at Ilam, Gaighat, Mirchaiya, Gaur, Tulsipur, Surkhet, Banepa, Damauli, Waling Hetauda and Dhangadi, commencing from November 15, 2014. Other locations will be included in the next phase.
