Eleven people were killed and 29 others got injured when the bus, Na 5 Kha 5420, heading to Mahendranagar from Dipayal fell from a mountain at Sahajpur-2 of Kailali district in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

According to injured passengers of the Kailali bus mishap the bus fell off the cliff owing to negligence of the driver. Passengers said the bus fell down the hill four minutes later the driver got off after the bus tires flattened. Passengers said the mishap occurred as the driver stopped the bus on uphill road and didn’t place any load behind tires.

Another injured passenger said that they had enough time to get off the bus if they were informed.

According to SP Bikram Chand at District Police Office, the inured are undergoing treatment at Attariya-based Padama Hopsital and Sewa Nursing Home. Police are searching the driver who is still at large.
