About 70 per cent construction works of the Upper Madi Hydroelectricity Project (25 megawatt) at Sildujure VDC-9 has been completed so far.

The project is expected to complete by 2072 BS, said project coordinator Ramraj Koirala.

About 2500 metres tunnel has been completed till the date and 1,700 meters is yet to complete. However, the construction works of the power house has been completed RSS reports.

The estimated cost of the project is 60 million US dollars, it is learnt. Of the total cost, 20 per cent was of executive chairman at the project Bijay Malla and 80 per cent of China Three Gorges Corporation. The project was started in 2069 BS.

With the completion of the project, some five million people would be benefitted.
