The regional office of Maiti Nepal in Nepalgunj rescued 33 Nepali women who were about to be trafficked to India and the Gulf countries.
According to Keshav Koirala, the coordinator at Maiti Nepal's regional office, 29 women were rescued from India while four from the Gulf countries last year reports RSS.
Rescue operations have become easier with the setting up of Maiti India in India in collaboration of Maiti Nepal, shared Koirala.
The organization working to prevent the trafficking of children and women, has so far rescued 469 children and women who were travelling to India under dubious circumstances from the border check point.
Out of the 447 applications received by the organization, that stated the missing status of some family members, 33 members have been found.
