Nepal: Contaminated Food supplied in government hospitals

The food free distributed for patients in three major public hospitals Bir Hospital, Maternity Hospital and TU Teaching Hospital contained bacteria. According to a food test made by joint team of Commission of Investigation of Abuse of Authority and National Food Lab, the kitchens and cafeteria of three hospitals were unclean and full of dirt.

After receiving several complains, CIAA sent a team to test the food. “The foods are unfit for human consumption. The foods are full of bacteria,” said spokesperson of  Lab Purna Chandra Basti. “The curry and rice distributed in Maternity Hospital was said Basti reported in Annapurna Daily.
