Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation is organizing 21st CAN Info-Tech 2015 -- annual information, communication and technology show -- at the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall from January 28.
Organizing a press meet in Kathmandu on Wednesday, CAN Federation said Subisu is the title sponsor of the six-day event while Dell Intel by Neoteric is the associate sponsor reports Republica online.
Speaking at the press meet, Binod Dhakal, president of the federation, said that the main objective of the event is to promote Nepali ICT industry and bring together all stakeholders of the industry in a single platform where problems and prospects of ICT industry can be discussed and new innovations can be displayed.
The Info-Tech will have 219 stalls including 14 food stalls. Around 90 percent of the stalls have already been booked, according to CAN Federation officials.
The event will have stalls of hardware sales and maintenance firms, power solutions providers, dealers of mobile phones and accessories, dealers and distributors of computer hardware, Internet service providers, telecommunications operators, ICT colleges and training institutes, software solutions and payment solutions providers, and banks and financial institutions, among others.
“Last year, we had welcomed 431,350 visitors. This year we are expecting participation more than 450,000 visitors,” Sunaina Ghimire Pandey, secretary of the federation, said.
CAN Federation will charge entry fee of Rs 150 for general visitors and Rs 75 for students.
“We have increased the entry fee after five years as the overall cost of organizing the event and rent of the hall has increased,” said Dhakal.
The federation, however, is providing 20 percent discount on tickets sold online.
