Meeting of the three major parties ends inconclusively

The meeting of three major three parties has yet again concluded inconclusively even today, with no consensus forged on the contentious issues surfaced during the promulgation of the new constitution.

According to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, also the President of the Nepali Congress, the meeting was held briefly at the Constitution Assembly Building in New Baneshower owing to the absence of Chairperson of UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

"We waited forever for Prachandaji. As he did not hit the scene even after a long wait, we headed to the President," PM Koirala told to media after the meeting.

President Ram Baran Yadav is likely to consult with the high-level leaders of the ruling and opposition parties today and also take stock about the progress on the drafting of the new constitution.

The meeting was scheduled to be held at noon to discuss on the most disputed issues seen in course of drafting a new constitution including restructuring of the state, forms of governance, electoral system and judiciary. President of Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala, Vice-President Ramchandra Poudel and Co- General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka attended the meeting on the behalf of Nepali Congress whereas Chairperson of CPN (UML) KP Oli, Vice-chairperson Bidhya Bhandari and Bhim Rawal took part in the meeting on the behalf of CPN (UML). Senior leaders Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Narayan Kaji Shrestha represented the UCPN (Maoist) in the meeting.

After the meeting, Dr Baburam Bhattarai shared that the meeting among the leaders of three major parties reports RSS.
