UCPN (Maoist) formally decided to intensify the nationwide protest.A Central Committee meeting of the party took the decisions to this effect. The meeting has also allocated the responsibilities to its leaders for the upcoming nationwide protest.

As per the decisions, party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been named as commander of the Mid-Zonal Region, senior leader Baburam Bhattarai has been made the commander of Western Region while Party Vice chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha has been named as commander of Eastern Region, said Chairman Dahal amidst a press conference at central party office, Paris Danda.

Likewise, General Secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Secretaries duo Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and Barsha Man Pun have been allocated responsibilities of leading protest programs with the coordination of the party central office, said Dahal reports My Republica online.

Speaking at the conference, Dahal threatened to retaliate strongly against the ruling Nepali Congress and CPN–UML over their decision to move unilaterally.

Dahal further warned of not returning in the Constituent Assembly (CA) unless and until the ruling parties give up their course to promulgate new constitution through majority votes.
