Women organizations affiliated to various political parties have expressed serious concerns over the death of a six-year-old girl who was raped a few days ago.

The victim from Kalaiya-8, Bara, who was reportedly raped in her village, breathed her last in course of treatment at the Kanti Children's Hospital in the Capital yesterday.

At a press conference in the Capital today, CPN-UML's aligned All Nepal Women Association Chairperson Bidhya Devi Bhandari said the Bara rape case has tarnished the image of the country. It was an unfortunate incident for child rights and human rights sector, she said, seeking severe punishment against the perpetrator(s).
