KOICA Organizes Judicial Training

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Judicial Research and Training Institute (JRTI) in Korea organized a three-day workshop on “High Level Partnership Program on Judicial Development (Nepal)” from April 21- 23.

Five members of JTRI delegation led by Prof. Kwon Ki-Hoon (Chief Professor and Judge) were in Kathmandu from April 17, 2015 to organize the workshop. For the first two days (April 21-22), 10 participants from different courts of Nepal, National Judicial Academy (NJA) and Ministry of Law and Justice participated in the series of lectures on a number of issues in the context of a judicial system of Korea such as like Juvenile Protection Trial, Judicial Information System, e-Learning System, Family Trial, e-Litigation in Korea, Mediation System.

According to a press release issued by KOICA, each session was followed by a constructive discussion and the participants shared various views on the judicial system of two countries and how the Korean judicial practices could be adapted and transformed creatively in Nepalese context. On April 23, all the former participants who attended 2012, 2013 and 2014 programs were also invited to share their learning experiences from the program.
