India urges for Nepal to address confrontation credibly and effectively

India expresses a deep concerned at the firing in Birgunj and killing of an innocent Indian. India said that it is monitoring the situation carefully.

In a press release issued by External Affairs Ministry of India, India said issues facing Nepal are political in nature and cannot be resolved by force. India said that causes underlying the present state of confrontation need to addressed by the Government of Nepal credibly and effectively.

 Indian freight forwarders and transporters have voiced their worries again about the deteriorating situation across the border. We are advising them to exercise caution and not put themselves in danger.

Meanwhile, after the violent protest in Birgunj India reportedly stopped all the border points citing the situation in Nepal insecure and violent.
