President Will Visit Sri Lanka and Thailand

Bidya Devi Bhandari, President of Nepal, is paying an official visit to Sri Lanka from 13 to 16 May 2017 at the cordial invitation of the President of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Maithripala Sirisena. She will leave Kathmandu on 12 May 2017.

 The President will spend a day in Thailand on her way to Sri Lanka.

The Keshab Kumar Budhathoki, Minister for General Administration will accompany the President. Advisors to the President, Secretaries and other officials from the Office of the President and Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as media persons will also be part of the entourage.

The President will address the closing ceremony of the United Nations Vesak Conference in Kandy, Sri Lanka, as the Chief Guest on 14 May 2017. She will also pay homage to Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha in Kandy. During the visit, she will hold a meeting with President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena.

 While in Thailand, the President will pay respect to the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej by presenting condolence wreath at the royal funeral urn at the Grand Palace in Bangkok.

 The President will return home on 16 May 2017.
