Rastriya Janta Party Nepal (RJPN) leaders said that the decision taken by the government to postpone the elections of No 2 province is unacceptable to them and demanding to postpone the elections of No 5 province as well.
“It is not our demand to postpone the elections of province 2 only. It is just a partial fulfillment,” said Rhidayesh Tripathy, leader of RJPN. “We continue to create the obstruction throughout the country.”
Despite the opposition from Elections Commission, the cabinet decided to postpone the elections of province 2. “This decision was taken to prevent to bloodshed and violence in terai,” said Minister of Finance and spokesperson of the government Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.
As the elections was postpone in no 2 province, people in the region frustrated and expressed their anger. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has issued a notice asking Electorate Officers to start the registration of nomination paper from 18 June.
