Filing of nominations which began on Sunday morning concludes by four for the second phase local level elections going to be held in Province 1, 5 and 7 slated on June 28.
“Except few sporadic events, there filing the nominations passed peaceful with enthusiastic party workers joined the process,” told Gopi Mainali, secretary of Elections Commission.
The process of filing of candidacy completed for 334 local levels of 35 districts, informed secretary Mainali.
According to a report, UML workers died in Bajura in a clash with Nepali Congress workers. Similarly, 10 people injured when an unidentified person hurdled a bomb in a process of Nepali Congress and Maoist Center combined in Badganga Village Council in Kapilvastu.
The 334 local levels include a metropolitan city, seven sub-metropolitan cities, 111 municipalities and 215 rural municipalities.
A total 6,432,765 voters are going to elect 15,038 representatives in the three provinces. The Election Commission has finalised total 8,364 polling booths in 4,581 polling centres for the elections. Similarly, 66,900 civil servants would be deployed targeting the elections, according to the Commission.
The first phase of local level elections was held in Provinces 3, 4 and 6 on May 14 whereas elections would be held on September 18 in the only remaining Province 2.
