Ambassador Carmona paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba earlier today. During the courtesy call, Prime Minister Deuba congratulated the newly elected French President Emmanuel Macron.
Prime Minister Deuba also recalled the age-old friendship between Nepal and France and thanked France for its support after the earthquake of 2015.
According to a press release issued by Embassy of France, Ambassador Carmona congratulated Prime Minister on his new responsibility and also on the progress made by Nepal with regards to the elections. Ambassador reiterated France’s support to Nepal’s peaceful democratic process.
Ambassador Carmona also apprised the Prime Minister of economic cooperation (especially the dossier of Kathmandu Urban Cable Car project) and how the French companies have shown their interest in doing business with Nepal.
Ambassador Carmona was accompanied by Arnaud Champy, Deputy Chief of Mission.
