SN 4 Higher Command And Management Course Concludes

The closing ceremony of Serial No. 4 Higher Command and Management Course (HCMC) was held amid a ceremony at Nepali Sainik War Collage, Nagarkot on June 23, 2017. The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Rajendra Chhetri graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest.

The closing ceremony of Serial No. 4 Higher Command and Management Course (HCMC) was held amid a ceremony at Nepali Sainik War Collage, Nagarkot on June 23, 2017. The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Rajendra Chhetri graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. The three-month long course, that started on March 16, 2017, was attended by 25 student officers of the Nepalese Army in the ranks of Colonel.

“COAS Chhetri awarded the "Best Student Award", certificate and cash prize of NRs. 30,000 to Colonel Anup Jung Thapa who stood first in the course. Likewise Colonel Santosh Ballav Paudel received a cash prize of NRs. 20,000 for the best Academic Writing. COAS Gen Chhetri also awarded the certificates to all the graduating student officers,” reports Nepal Army.

Addressing the closing ceremony, COAS Gen Chhetri reminds that this course was started four years ago to enhance the Professional Military Education (PME) and added that the course was designed to enable our future military leaders to make effective decisions and sound plans, enabling the senior officers to guide their junior leaders in complex operating environments. He believed that this course has prepared the students officers adequately, to meet all future challenges.

Speaking at the occasion, COAS Chhetri emphasized that the prime responsibility of the NA is to safeguard the freedom, sovereignty, territorial integrity, independence and national unity as directed by the constitution of Nepal and anticipated that the training have adequately prepared the student officers to understand these responsibilities. He congratulated all student officers and thanked the chief instructor, the commandant, directing staffs and faculty members for all the hard work they put in. He also reiterated his gratitude to the various subject matter experts, who have added so much value to the course.

Chief Instructor (CI) of the course, Major General Sarad Giri delivered the welcome speech at the beginning of the ceremony.

According to a press release issued by Nepal Army, former Chief of Army Staff, General officers of NA, professor and subject matter experts, joint secretary of MoD, high ranking officials of sister security organizations, faculty members & officers of Nepalese Army along with media personnel were also present at the program.
