Voting Begins With Enthusiasm

Despite rain in some places and hot in others, voting for the second phase of local level elections has begun. According to the reports, people have already lined up in the polling stations to cast their votes early.

Despite rain in some places and hot in others, voting for the second phase of local level elections has begun. According to the reports, people have already lined up in the polling stations to cast their votes early.

According to Election Commission, the rain is disturbing in some places. However, the early hours of voting look promising.

Voters in the provinces 1, 5 and 7 are voting in the second phase of local level elections. In the second phase of the elections, a total of 6,432,765 voters is to cast the vote to elect 150,038. There are more than 62,000 candidates vying for the positions.

According to the Election Commission, the second phase of election is taking place in 35 districts and 334 local units, including a metropolitan city, 7 sub-metropolitan cities, 111 municipalities and 215 rural municipalities.

The Election Commission has deployed 66,900 civil servants while the government has deployed 163,000 security personnel for the second phase of the election. Altogether 6,733 poll observers are in the field to monitor the election process.
