Japanese Ambassador Handed Over Ski Equipment To Nepal

Masashi Ogawa, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, handed over ski equipment to Jeevan Ram Shrestha, President of the Nepal Ski Association at a ceremony.

 Masashi Ogawa, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, handed over ski equipment to Jeevan Ram Shrestha, President of the Nepal Ski Association at a ceremony.

According to après release issued by Embassy of Japan, the equipment comes as a donation to Nepal by the Ski Association of Japan (SAJ) and includes 12 pair of skis, six pairs of ski boots and six sets of ski wear. The donation of ski equipment was provided under the Japanese Government's "SPORT FOR TOMORROW" scheme.

Skiing is a popular international winter sport in Japan, North America and Europe. Nepal Ski Association has been trained about 15 skiers, and two athletes - one in cross-country and one in Alpine skiing, and there are plans for participating in the upcoming Winter Olympics.

“The Embassy of Japan is pleased to support Nepal’s enthusiasm in sport as that can contribute towards enhancing the cordial relations between the people of Japan and Nepal,” said a press release.
