U.S. President Trump Congratulates Nepalese People On Nepal's Constitution Day

In a message to the president of Nepal Bidhya Devi Bhandari, U.S. President Donald J. Trump congratulated Nepalese people on constitution day. “On behalf of all Americans, congratulations as you celebrate Constitution Day on September 19th.  This is a great day for your country, and the people of the United States welcome this celebration of your democracy,” said president Trump in his message.

“Since you last recognized this important day, Nepal has achieved important progress.  You have accelerated earthquake reconstruction and begun to revive the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of your citizens.  Your economy has improved remarkably and is poised for future growth.  Most importantly, you have held the first local elections in 20 years – a significant milestone for your democratic government,” said President Trump in his statement. “I thank you for your commitment to our shared principles and reiterate our support for Nepal’s continuing progress toward peace and prosperity. Again, best wishes to you, your family, and all Nepalis on this important day,” read message.
