In a series of violent attack targeting the candidates, former finance minister and leader of Nepali Congress Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat closely saved in an ambush in Nuwakot on Friday.

Five people were hurt after a pressure cooker bomb was exploded at two vehicle of the democratic alliance. The vehicles, Ba 14 Cha 7041 and Ba 16 Cha 665 were campaigning for the elections at Nuwakot when the bomb exploded at Kaule Thana of Kakani rural municipality, Ward 5.

The bomb had targeted Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat and Ramesh Kumar Mahat of Nepali Congress. Mahat is a candidate for the House of Representatives from constituency 1 and Mahat for Provincial elections from Nuwakot.

Those injured are Upendra Mishra, Bhes Kumar Tamang, Sabin Lama and Ramesh Rai and an unidentified person. Those injured have been taken to Kathmandu for further treatment, Dr. Mahat said.

According to a media report, Dr. Mahat’s car was one hundred meters ahead of the ambushed place. Five injured workers of Nepali Congress brought to Kathmandu by helicopter for further treatment.

Similarly, bomb exploded in Rolpa targeting speaker of parliament Omshari Gharti, former deputy prime minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara and former minister Barsha Man Pun. No one injured in the explosion.

Although nobody has claimed any responsibility, security agencies believed that Maoist Party led by Biplab is responsible for recent several attack against the workers of different party.
