Facing severe criticism from left alliance against its decision to scrap Budhi Gandaki, Nepali Congress said the government canceled the agreement between Chinese company to build Budhi Gandaki as par the direction of Parliamentary Committee.

“We have just cancelled the agreement with Chinese Company. However,Nepali Congress is committed to construct Budhi Gandaki,” said NC leader Bal Krishna Khand in a press meet in Nepali Congress party office.

Defending the government’s decision, Khand said that the agreement was cancelled not a pressure from any country but it was under a direction of parliamentary committee which included the members from left alliance as well.
