Newly elected Speaker of the House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said that he would assume his duties with a major focus on implementation of the Constitution drafted by the people.
He expressed the commitment to work in the formulation of essential laws. "All the political parties have given me important responsibility, and now my priority will be to draft the necessary laws", he said in an interaction with media.
Mahara also said that he would work considering the fact that the parliament is a source of people's faith and a way to resolve all problems.
Upon election, Mahara was congratulated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Main opposition leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-MC Chair Puspa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and MPs and MP Secretariat.
