As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Nepal chose to open the campaign with the issue of sexual harassment on public transport. With multiple studies indicating unacceptable rates of women being sexually harassed on public transport, it is almost a juxtaposition to see female tempo drivers coming to the foreground of public transport. But how are these women who drive tempos for a living actually faring with sexual harassment on public transport? And how effective has this year’s campaigning been?
