Election Commission To Deploy 88 Undercover Officers

Election Commission (EC) said that it will deploy 88 undercover security officers from tomorrow in 45 districts. EC Spokesperson Navaraj Dhakal said that they will also be deployed in sensitive and most sensitive areas.

Election Commission stressed the need of adequate security for every voter, candidate, EC staffer and electoral material.

Addressing an orientation program of micro-monitors at the EC central office Chief Elections Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav said that that undercover official would be deployed for micro-monitoring in 45 districts, where the second phase of provincial and parliamentary elections would be held on December 7.

He said undercover officers would ensure that political parties and candidates followed the election code of conduct and didn’t influence voters. “The EC has to ensure maximum participation of voters in elections,” he said, adding that help of all stakeholders would be taken to ensure voter-friendly environment.

Chief Election Commissioner Yadav asked the government and security agencies to boost security so that every voter could cast vote fearlessly.
