Police Worries On Over Consumption of Homemade Alcohol

After receiving complains about the over-consumption of homemade alcohol during the election campaigns, Chitwan Police launched a massive operation to cease homemade alcohol.

According to Ghatna Ra Bichar, police has confiscated 43000 liters home-made alcohol in Chitwan district alone. Police confiscated over 21000 liters raw materials. Use of homemade alcohol commercial purposes is illegal in Nepal. However, it is rampantly sold in Nepal.

As the elections campaigns intensify, the sale of authorized bottled alcohol has also drastically increased in different parts of the country.  According to Nagarik daily, the candidates of different parties are offering free alcohol to lure the voters in remote parts of the country.
