Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport is leading Nepali delegation to the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) being held from 5 to 9 March 2023.
Prior to the Conference, Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to address the Summit of the Least Developed Countries today organized by Malawi, present Chair of the LDC group.
In Doha, Deputy Prime Minister will address the General Debate of the Conference, deliver a keynote speech in the program commemorating fifty years of the creation of the LDC category, and co-chair a high-level thematic roundtable on ‘Structural Transformation as a Driver of Prosperity in the LDCs’. On the sidelines of the Conference, he will hold bilateral meetings with delegations from different countries and the high official of the United Nations. He will also interact with the representative of the organizations of Nepali diasporas.
The delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister comprisesHon. Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Jeetendra Narayan Dev, Member of the parliament, Secretaries of the Government of Nepal, Ambassador of Nepal to the State of Qatar, Permanent Representatives of Nepal to the United Nations from New York and Geneva and other senior officials.
