High Level Indian Team Visits Nepal

A high level team consisting of NSA Ajit Doval, Additional Principal Secretary P K Mishra and Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar visited Nepal . They carried an aerial survey of Gorkha district and landed near the epicenter at Barpak where they met Nepal Army commanding officer, local people and Indian medical and engineering teams. They also called on the Foreign Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Prime Minister and the President of Nepal.

Indian helicopters made 58 sorties today in coordination with the Nepalese authorities, dropped 38 tones of relief material, rescued 98 injured and brought 297 stranded persons to Kathmandu and Pokhara.

According to a press release issued by Indian Embassy, 345 tonnes of relief material consisting of dry food, rice, salt, biscuit , noodle, water and essential medicine from the State Governments of Bihar and UP also arrived in Nepal.

A self-sufficient Langar was set up today at Bhelu Khel, near Siddhi Memorial Hospital, Bhaktapur. It can cater meals to 5000 persons per day upto 30 days. A second Langar also started distributing dry ration in Sankhu, Nuwakot and Sanga.
