Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal Dr. Mazhar Javed said Pakistan is ready to convene the deferred Summit of South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) as soon as possible. He said that SAARC has important role in regional peace and other country should not be delayed to hold the summit.
Addressing the interaction program on the topic Resolution of Jammu and Kashmir Dispute: An Imperative Dispute for Regional Peace and Development, ambassador informed that Pakistan is ready to hold the summit.
He also put this view before prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in his recent meeting. Attended by people from various walks of life including former diplomats, journalists and civil society members, speakers in talk Speakers in their talk emphasized that resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes of people of Jammu and Kashmir is imperative for regional peace and development.
Organized by the Embassy of Pakistan, Kathmandu, the day observes as Black Day by Kashmiries to condemn the unlawful landing of Indian troops in occupied Jammu and Kashmir on 27 October 1947. Pakistan blamed India for illegally occupying the state of Jammu and Kashmir against the wishes of its people and in utter violation of UN Security Council resolutions.
Pakistan has been raising the voice s that Kashmiries are also facing grave human rights violations as India is trying to silence their voice for the right of self determination with use of excessive force and brutal means.
