Indian Embassy Hosted A Reception
Indian Embassy hosted a reception to mark 66th Republic Day of India. Hosted by Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Ray, the program also include classical Indian music program.
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, leaders of main opposition party Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, ministers,former prime ministers, senior leaders of poltical parties and people from different walks of life, head of diplomatic missions and other diplomats based in Kathmandu attended the reception.
Nepalese prime minister Sushil Koirala extended felicitations to Indian Prime Minister and the government and the people of India on the occasion of the 66th Republic Day of India.
In a message sent to the Indian Prime Minister on behalf of government and people of Nepal and on his own, PM Koirala has wished for Indian Prime Minister´s good health and happiness as well as continued peace, progress and prosperity of the friendly people of India.
PM Koirala has said Nepal and India enjoy age-old friendship and share similar socio-cultural and aspirations based on understanding, goodwill and cooperation.
Recalling Indian PM Modi´s visit to Nepal in August and November, PM Koirala said both visits had paved the way for deeper cooperation and engagement between Nepal and India.
"We count on India´s continued goodwill and support in building democratic institutions and pursuing socio-economic transformation within an overall framework of democratic polity as desired by the people of Nepal," the PM said reports RSS.
