A taskforce formed by the Constituent Assembly (CA) for making necessary arrangements for a meeting of the Proposal Drafting Committee has apprised top leaders of the ruling Nepali Congress and CPN-UML about its preparations.

The Committee comprising representatives from different political parties including the ruling parties has been assigned to prepare questionnaire regarding the disputed issues of the new constitution.

The Committee held a meeting with top leaders of the ruling parties at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar and informed about the arrangements.

According to UML Vice-Chairperson Bidya Devi Bhandari, the meeting discussed on various issues including procedures of the Committee.

NC leaders Purna Bahadur Khadka and Ramesh Lekhak and UML's Bhim Bahadur Rawal and Agni Kharel are among the members in the task force.

The CA on Sunday formed the Committee to prepare questionnaire regarding the disputed issues of the new constitution amidst strong protests from the opposition parties led by the UCPN-Maoist.

The UCPN-Maoist and Madhes-based political parties have not yet provided names of their members to the Committee demanding the new constitution should be written on the basis of consensus.

Prime Minister and NC President Sushil Koirala, Vice-President Ram Chandra Paudel, CPN -UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Vice-Chairperson Bhandari, among others were present in the meeting.
