Two NA Peacekeepers sustain injuries in DPR Congo

Two Nepal Army (NA) peacekeepers deployed in United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) have sustained injuries in an exchange of bullets with local rebel group Mai-Mai.

Two Nepal Army (NA) peacekeepers deployed in United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) have sustained injuries in an exchange of bullets with local rebel group Mai-Mai.

According to a press release issued by Nepal Army, the injured military personals are receiving treatment in UN’s Level-3 hospital. “They are out of danger and in stable condition.”

The incident took place some 22 km far from the Shamsher Dal battalion established in Congo. Five rebellions have been killed during the incident. The NA has collected two AK-47 rifles and 50 round bullets from the incident site and have handed them over to national army of  DPRCongo, FARDC, the statement reads.
