Minister of Energy Mahendra Bahadur Shahi said that he can cancel the lenience of even Upper Karnali if it fails to start work as per the agreement.  Speaking in a program, minister Shahi said that Nepal will reduce the electricity import from India by next year.

“Not only Upper Karnali even I can cancel the license of Budhi Gandaki if they fail to work according to program,” said Minister Shahi. “I don’t have any differences with Managing director of NEA Kul Man Ghishing. All the rumors about our relations are bogus and manufactured by certain vested interest people.”

He issued warning to the entire hydro power license holder either to start the construction or to face the consequences. “I will cancel the license of those who do not start construction of project within two weeks,” said minister.
