Nepal’s erstwhile Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyay has asserted that the southern neighbor will extend full support for upcoming provincial and parliamentary elections.

Addressing an interaction program NC leader Uphadyay said India has taken a broader leftist alliance normally.

“This alliance seems to be forged for winning upcoming polls, it not wise to put false accusation on anyone referring to the leftist alliance. We all should be responsible for holding State Assemblies and House of Representatives,” Upadhyay added.

“India has officially said they would extend their support for the polls, so, we should not be too susceptible towards our southern neighbor,” former ambassador added.

“Currently, Nepal-India relation is smooth, people will judge my performance of two-year stint as a diplomat,” Upadhayay shared.

He also clarified that he could contest in upcoming polls from Kapilvastu as his resignation has already been accepted by the Council of Ministers.

He insisted that Nepali Congress should have contested elections on its own rather than forging an electoral alliance with other parties.
