Nepalese ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyay met Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar and held discussions on bilateral issues

Nepalese ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyay met Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar and held discussions on bilateral issues particularly on the water resources and cross border electricity supply to Nepal.

According to a press release issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the areas include cooperation in water resources, supply of electricity, cross border infrastructure and connectivity, people to people relations, and other areas of mutual interest.

They underlined that working together for proper management of water resources in Nepal would result in multiple benefits for both Nepal and India in terms of flood control, power generation, irrigation, water navigation and others.

Ambassador Upadhyay made a request for the review of tariff of the existing power supply arrangement between Nepal Electricity Authority and North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited as well as for further augmentation of power supply to Nepal.

Ambassador Upadhyay congratulated the Chief Minister for the growth and development Bihar has achieved under his leadership. The Ambassador invited Chief Minister to visit Nepal at a suitable time. During the meeting, Ambassador Upadhyay was accompanied by Kul Man Ghising, Managing Director of NEA and other officials.
