Kul Man Ghising, the managing director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), has accomplished a great deal during his two years in the position despite a lack of funding, the sluggish administrative structure of the NEA, and the lack of cooperation from various government stakeholders. Due to rising electricity demand and power generation, NEA must make significant investments in its transmission and distribution networks. In addition, interministerial collaboration and support from provincial, local, and public institutions are essential to the development of an NEA transmission and distribution system that can evacuate and continuously supply power to every household. Nepal Can Now Trade Electricity In India's Real Time Market
Nepal and Bhutan have traded 4.41 billion units of electricity in the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) ever since India's Cross Border Electricity Trade (CBET) rules were notified in 2021. India is also looking beyond the countries it shares its border with for electricity trade.
